Contact Congress about the "Keep Our Educators Working Act"

While this act targets many necessary areas (K-12 education, Pell Grants), it does not have any provisions to stop layoffs in higher education.
National AAUP FAQ on Financial Crisis

It is important for faculty to have a meaningful role in making budgetary decisions that will affect their ability to provide a good education to their students and to expand disciplinary knowledge through their research.
LB 1001: proposal to repeal in state tuition for undocumented students
Submitted by kelen on Tue, 01/26/2010 - 23:32LB 1001, would repeal the provisions passed in 2006 that allow students who graduate from Nebraska high schools to pay in-state tuition at universities in Nebraska, regardless of their citizenship or residency status.

New Oregon Law Gives Part-Time Faculty Access to Benefits

State Funding for Higher Education Continues to Fall in NE
